Rolando Espinosa Announced as Campus Student Recruitment Coordinator

Rolando Espinosa, MHRM/PSY – Campus Student Recruitment Coordinator 

Harmony Science Academy – Pflugerville welcomes Mr. Rolando Espinosaas the new Campus Student Recruitment Coordinator. Mr. Espinosa will share the great programming at HSA-Pf with the community, assist new families in becoming oriented with the campus, and connect with current Harmony families. 

Mr. Espinosa has a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management and Psychology. For the last 23 years, he has been serving the community in various capacities. Mr. Esspinosa has been in the education field for the last 16 years as a Teacher, Director of Operations, and consultant for private and non-profit organizations. Before pursuing his passion for coaching human resources, he spent seven years as a Quality Control Investigation Specialist in the Pharmaceutical field. 

“In my new role as the Campus Student Recruiter Coordinator, I am excited to build new relationships that contribute to our educational community and solidify the educational quality of our students.”

Yakup Uluturk Announced as High School College Counselor

Yakup Uluturk, MBA | Harmony Science Academy – Pflugerville High School Counselor

This spring 2021 semester, Harmony Science Academy – Pflugerville welcomes a new team member to the College and Career team, Mr. Yakup Uluturk, MBA. Mr.  Uluturk joins as a College Counselor and brings with him a breadth of experience in education.

He graduated from Yildiz Technical University, Istanbul, with a Mathematics Bachelor’s degree. Mr. Ulururk then received his master’s degree in MBA at North American University. With his 24 years in education, he has spent the last four years as a Harmony Public Schools college counselor. At HSA-Pf, he is excited to help more students on their college journey. 

When Mr. Uluturk is not on campus helping students, he enjoys reading, traveling, and trying new foods with his wife and three daughters.

Waiver of the Student Success Initiative (SSI) Promotion Requirements

The purpose of this announcement is to inform our HPS communities about changes to the Student Success Initiative (SSI) promotion/retention and retesting requirements for the 2020–2021 school year. In light of past and anticipated impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Commissioner of Education has waived grade promotion requirements for students in fifth and eighth grade for the 2020–2021 school year. Notwithstanding anything the contrary in prior policy or procedure, Harmony Public Schools will comply with the Commissioner’s waiver of SSI requirements for this school year.
