Regions Bank sponsored a free book distribution event at Harmony School of Science - Austin, a pre-K through fifth-grade campus in Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas, in partnership with Book Drive for Kids Austin.

Through the sponsorship, all 499 students at the campus selected a brand-new book to take home and keep, and 20 teachers chose a new book for their classroom libraries.

Book Drive for Kids’ Free Book Fairs are book ownership events designed to serve children who enjoy reading but have few, if any, books at home. The fairs create excitement about reading by allowing students to choose a free book of their own.

During the event, volunteers set up four to six tables of age-appropriate books, offering a variety of reading levels and genres, including fiction and nonfiction. After making their selections, students inscribed their names on specially designed bookplates, reinforcing the concept of book ownership.

“Support from community partners helps ensure our students have access to high-quality books at home,” said Principal Amy Guney. “Providing students with books of their own encourages a lifelong love of reading.”

Regions Bank’s sponsorship covered the cost of books and materials, making the event accessible to every student on campus.
