Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas Students Earn Prestigious QuestBridge Summer Opportunities

Two Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas juniors have earned recognition through QuestBridge, a national nonprofit organization that connects high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds with top colleges and educational opportunities across the country.

Bereket H., an 11th-grade student at Harmony Science Academy-Pflugerville, was selected to participate in the Computer Science Pre-College Program through QuestBridge’s Summer Programs initiative. The competitive program provides students with advanced academic experiences and exposure to college-level computer science coursework.

At Harmony School of Excellence, junior Jaime R. was accepted into the QuestBridge College Prep Scholars Program, a highly selective national initiative that supports outstanding students as they prepare for the college admissions process. Through QuestBridge summer programs, students can take courses on college campuses and in virtual classrooms while immersing themselves in the college experience. Scholarships fund the full cost of travel, tuition, housing, meals, and supplies, helping remove financial barriers for participating students.

The QuestBridge College Prep Scholars Program also provides students with academic support, college preparation resources, mentorship opportunities, and guidance on college applications, essays, financial aid, and scholarships. Participants gain access to partnerships with more than 40 leading colleges and universities nationwide.

Jaime plans to pursue a degree in technology, with a focus on engineering or computer science, and hopes to use QuestBridge resources to strengthen his college applications and scholarship opportunities. His top college choices include Cornell University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Harmony Public Schools celebrated success statewide this year, with 57 students accepted into the prestigious QuestBridge Summer Program.

“These opportunities open doors for our students and allow them to see what is possible for their futures,” said Dr. Altindag, Area Superintendent for Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas. “Bereket and Jaime have demonstrated exceptional dedication, academic achievement, and ambition. We are incredibly proud of them and excited to see what they accomplish next.”

QuestBridge programs are nationally recognized for helping students navigate the path to college access and success while connecting them with some of the nation’s most prestigious universities.
