Harmony Science Academy-Pflugerville welcomed student teams from across the region on Feb. 28, 2026, for the REC Foundation Aerial Drone Competition, a high-energy event that challenged students in teamwork, coding, piloting and problem solving.

Throughout the competition, students demonstrated their skills in autonomous flight missions, piloting challenges and collaborative teamwork matches. Teams also participated in interviews and showcased their engineering process through competition logbooks, highlighting strategy, programming and safety knowledge.

The All Around Champion award recognizes a team that excels across multiple areas of the competition. To earn this distinction, teams must submit a detailed competition logbook, rank highly in team interviews and place in the top 50 percent of both teamwork qualification matches and skills rankings.

The competition highlighted the strength of STEM programs across Harmony Public Schools-Central Texas and provided students with meaningful opportunities to apply classroom learning in a real-world, high-stakes environment.
